While we have already seen some details regarding the performance of the Radeon R9 290X in both the so called "quiet mode" and the "uber-mode" we now have first notion on how fast should it be when overclocked to 1130MHz.
In case you missed it earlier and according to earlier leaks, the R9 290X packs AMD's Hawaii XT GPU with 2816 stream processors, 176 TMUs and 64 ROPs, packs 4GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with 512-bit memory interface and should work at 800MHz for the GPU, at least in the "Quiet mode" where the fan profile will keep the card a silent possible while maintaining as much performance as possible.
The member from Chiphell forums also posted some results for overclocked graphics card that was set to work at 1130MHz and various memory settings of up to 1550MHz, which is quite a decent overclock result from 1250MHz reference memory clock. While the fan was set to spin at 100% in all scenarios, the performance gain is quite impressive considering he managed to pull of X5140 and P15081 in 3DMark 11.
Unfortunately, we are still waiting for some gaming results but so far R9 290X looks like a decent overclocker as well.
