Asus has now officially announced its new Transformer Book T100, a 10.1-inch ultraportable notebook/tablet hybrid based on Intel's Bay Trail quad-core Atom CPU and a detachable screen that transforms it into a standalone Windows 8.1 tablet.
With 263x171x10.5mm dimensions and 550g weight for tablet and 263x171x13.1mm and 520g weight for the dock, the new Transformer Book T100 certainly fits in the ultraportable range. Based around a 10.1-inch 1366x768 IPS touchscreen paired up with Intel Atom Z3740 quad-core 1.33GHz clocked Bay Trail CPU with Intel HD graphics (gen7) the new Transformer Book T100 definitely packs enough punch for most everyday tasks.
The rest of the specs include 2GB of RAM and 32/64GB of flash storage, front 1.2-megapixel camera, 802.11abng WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 for connectivity, micro-USB, micro-HDMI and microSD card slot for outputs and additional storage, USB 3.0 port on the dock, stereo speakers with Asus SonicMaster technology as well as accelerometer, ambient light, e-compass and gyroscope sensors, 31Whr battery and, of course, Windows 8.1 32-bit OS.
According to Asus, the battery should keep it alive in standby mode for up to 14 days and it should wake up from standby in an instant.
Unfortunately, we still lack the precise launch date and the price of the new Transformer Book T100.
