An alleged early benchmark results for the Radeon R9 290X have finally appeared online showing some results that puts AMD's new flagship against Nvidia's own GTX Titan. According to these, R9 290X is indeed faster than the GTX Titan in some cases but it it definitely faster than the GTX 780.

Chinese site PCOnline.com.cn compared the R9 290X against both the GTX Titan and the GTX 780 in a couple of tests including 3DMark 11, 3DMark Firestrike as well as few game titles including Metro: Last Light. The results are pretty much what we expected and what we have been hearing from partners for quite a while. AMD's Radeon R9 290X will certainly end up faster than the GTX 780 and even be faster than the GTX Titan in some tests.

Of course, bear in mind that these are early benchmarks so we will rather wait for the "official" ones before we give our final judgment as there are still a lot of unknowns, including the final price, power consumption and overclocking potential.
