Gigabyte shipped 6 million motherboards in Q313

Wants to hit 21 million for 2013

According to a report from Digitimes, Gigabyte managed to ship six million motherboards worldwide during third quarter of this year and wants to ship additional five million units in the next quarter, which should add up to a total of 21 million motherboards in 2013.

According to Digitimes sources, Gigabyte has shipped around 5.2 million in the first quarter and around 4.8 in the second one. The main reason behind Gigabyte's success, according to the report, is increased shipping in China and with increased mid-range and high-end product shipments, the company's profitability should be on the rise as well.

Currently China holds around 27 millions of motherboard shipments in 2013 and Gigabyte's share is at around nine million. When it comes to worldwide shipments, China accounts for over 42 percent of global volume.

Asus is not sitting with crossed hands either and moves to maintain its leadership and achieve on-year growth compared to 22.2 million units shipped in 2012.
