According to a report over at Digitimes.com, citing its sources from graphics card industry, Nvidia might bring one or two new graphics card SKUs as well as various price cuts in late November.
According to Digitimes.com, AMD's recently announced and priced members of the R9 and R7 series that will fit between US $89 and US $299 will put a lot of pressure on Nvidia to offer price cuts in late November as well as release on or two new SKUs to defend in the US $149-249 segment.
We already wrote about it and although Nvidia previously noted that it will not launch any "new graphics cards" before next year when it will be ready with its new Maxwell GPU, these upcoming SKUs are technically not "new graphics cards" but rather a variation of the existing GPUs, aka. rebrands/refresh. To be completely honest, entire AMD's R7 and R9 series are not new GPUs as it is suspected that only the R9 290X, R9 290 and the R7 260X are actually new GPUs since these support TrueSound feature.
AMD's Matt Skynner, corporate VP and general mamagner of AMD's Graphics Business Unit, believes that AMD currently has a good chance to regain 50 percent share in the GPU market. Of course, Nvidia will not sit with its hands crossed and we are sure that it will have some sort of response.
