Philips shows its 65- and 84-inch 4K TVs

New Cloud TV services as well

As expected considering that 4K is definitely the next big thing when it comes to TV market, Philips has announced two new 4K Smart TVs during IFA 2013, the Philips 65PFL9708 and the Philips 84PFL9708.

Both being part of Philips premium 9000 series, the new 4K TVs feature, as the name suggest, 64-inch and 84-inch panel and feature Ultra Pixel HD Engine technology for upscaling since 4K content is currently quite scarce. As a part of the 9000 series, both models should feature three-sided Ambilight, something that certainly makes Philips TVs stand out from the competition.

It also comes with sensor controller dimming via the Micro Dimming Pro algorithms, "vibrant" cinematic sound as well as an easy access to new cloud based Philips Smart TV services and embedded WiFi with support for WiFi Miracast, SimplyShare, Smart Screen and Multi-room features that should provide easier sharing from and to the new 9000 series 4K TVs.

TP Vision also unveiled the new Cloud TV services that will expand current offering on Philips Smart TVs with hundreds of channels accessible via Internet as well as Philips Cloud Explorer that allows reproduction of content stored in the cloud. The new Cloud TV Services will be compatible with all Philips Smart TV models introduced in 2012 and later.

Priced at "attractive price point" of €4,999 for the 65-inch Philips 65PFL9708 model and €14,999 for the 84-inch Philips 84PFL9708 one, it will certainly make an impact on the market.
