Xbox One CPU boosted to 1.75GHz

Console now in full production

Microsoft's chief marketing officer for Xbox, Yusuf Mehdi, has confirmed that Xbox One has received a last minute specification update that takes the CPU to 1.75GHz and that the console itself is now in full production. Microsoft also confirmed that it will reveal the launch date today.

According to Yusuf Mehdi, Xbox One CPU has been "overclocked" from 1.6GHz to 1.75GHz and while developers with 1.6GHz clocked versions should start seeing the increased clock pretty soon. He also addressed the recent "production issues" rumors stating that Microsoft has already increased the GPU power by six percent, CPU by almost ten percent, showed off retail boxes and are currently in full production.

While Sony is yet to announce the CPU clock in its Playstation 4 console, recent rumors also stated that Xbox One might have a dedicated GPU stacked together with the APU.

It appears that it will be the battle until the last minute as we are eagerly awaiting all the information as well as launch dates and still missing a lot of key features and specifications.

Hopefully, we will see them sooner rather than later as rumored November launch date is just around the corner.
