MSI to equip its AG2712A gaming AiO with HD 8970M GPU

Coming soon to Europe

Announced back in June with Intel Ivy Bridge Core i7 CPU and Geforce GTX 670M graphics card, MSI will now bring the same AG2712 All-in-One gaming beast equipped with Radeon HD 8970M GPU as well.

In case you missed it earlier, the AG2712 features wide choice of Intel's Core i7 Ivy Bridge CPUs, depending on the SKU, Intel's HM77 chipset and up to 16GB of DDR3 memory in two SO-DIMM slots, all packed neatly behind a 27-inch LED backlit 1920x1080 screen. Although it was previously available with GTX 670M GPU, this time around, MSI decided to pair it up with the AMD's Radeon HD 8970M GPU with 2GB of GDDR5 memory.

In case you missed it earlier, the Radeon 8970M is simply a faster version of the Graphics CoreNext (GCN) based Radeon HD 7970M as it has a higher 900MHz GPU and higher 1250MHz memory clocks. It still packs 1280 stream processors, 2 or 4GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 256-bit memory interface, which should be enough for most games at 1920x1080 resolution and decent game quality settings.

Unfortunately, the precise specifications are not detailed yet and we still need to see the official price tag as it still did not show up in any retail/e-tail shop but we must say that it is certainly interesting.
