As it will be the case with every major company in the game industry, Microsoft is also coming to Gamescom in Cologne in full force and with its new Xbox One in tow. Microsoft and Sony will definitely be crossing horns at Gamescom as both of the companies are gearing up to launch their new next-gen consoles. Microsoft will be hosting the pre-Gamescom event on Tuesday and will be probably talking about known and still unknown titles for the Xbox One.
Phil Spencer, Head of Microsoft Studios, noted that they will have a "unique exclusive" for Xbox One during Gamescom and that they also will talk about "Europe's biggest franchise", most likely football, or as fellow readers across the pond like to call it, soccer. In any case, Microsoft's pre-Gamescom press conference will certainly be as interesting as the Sony one for Playstation 4.
It is good that Sony and Microsoft are at each others marketing throats as that way we will end up with two quite good consoles and while there is competition, there will be enough room to improvements, price-wars and battle for exclusives, all which benefit the consumer.
