Nvidia's Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Tesla GPU coprocessor has jumped the ship and left for Google, according to various sources on the net and including the official Google confirmation.
Steve Scott previously spent 19 years designing systems and interconnects at Cray inc., the supercomputer company, where he managed to get 27 US patents in the networks interconnection area as well as had a big part, as a lead designer, on Cray's X1 parallel vector computer.
While Nvidia's Tesla department is certainly doing good, Google is definitely a better move and we are sure they are happy to have a man like Steve Scott.
Nvidia's Tesla department will go on with Bill Dally, Jonah Alben, and Sumit Gupta, but it will definitely feel the loss of Steve Scott.
