Swiftech pulls H220 CPU liquid cooler from USA market

Infringing Aseteks patents

Swiftech has announced that it will pull its H220 liquid CPU cooler from the USA market as a result of received letter from Asetek claiming that the H220 infringes on two US patents.

Swiftech also responded to Asetek's claim by stating that, according to preliminary results, do not believe that the H220 infringes any of those patents but in an effort to avoid any further litigation offered Asetek a chance to give them a non-exclusive license for those patents.

Despite the fact that it has stopped sales and imports of the H220, Swiftech noted that it will still offer full technical and warranty support for those H220 coolers that have been already sold in the US while rest of the world will still have it on retail/e-tail shelves.

Swiftech will try to get its H220 back to USA market and this case with Asetek has been going of for a while and Swiftech is just one in a row of other companies that are on the Asetek's list.
