Intel Haswell is not selling well

Analyst doubtful

Almost entire PC market has hoped that the launch of Intel's 4th generation Core Haswell CPUs as well as the Windows 8 and the upcoming Windows 8.1 update will bring the entire market up from its knees but according to some analysts, even Haswell is not doing that well.

According to Mark Moskowitz of J.P. Morgan, there is no high hope for PC market and sales. In his report over at AppleInsider, Mark estimated that PC sales will drop by 8.3 percent year over year for 2013. Some other analysts and sources noted that same thing is happening with Haswell and even noted that Haswell sales are currently faltering.

Most sources put the blame for low sales and the actual situation on lack of innovation on the software side of things and that is mainly pointing to low sales of Windows 8, something that has been known for quite some time.

Microsoft's Windows 8.1 might fix some things but it could also be too late for the market. Intel also puts a some hopes in its upcoming OnCue TV service as well as the upcoming BayTrail platform.

In any case, situation is far from bright on the PC market.
