HTC working on 5.9-inch One Max phablet

Reportedly coming in September

In addition to the HTC One mini that has been leaked and detailed earlier, it appears that HTC is also working on a larger, 5.9-inch phablet that should be known as the HTC One Max and be a direct competition to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note III.

According to a report over at Mobile Geeks site, citing an undisclosed source, the HTC One Max might be available in early September in order to gain upper hand by launching just a few days before the Samsung Galaxy Note III scheduled to be officially announced at Samsung Unveiled event just before IFA show in Berlin.

According to rumors, the HTC One Max should feature a 5.9-inch 1920x1080 screen, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 chipset with quad-core CPU clocked at 2.3GHz, 2GB of RAM, 32 or 64GB of storage space and a 3200mAh battery. It is still not clear on how HTC actually plans to counter Samsung's well known S-Pen that has been a key feature of the Galaxy Note line.

On a similar note, HTC One mini has again appeared online with full pictures showing the front and the back of the smartphone as well as screenshots that actually confirm the specs including the dual-core 1.4GHz Snapdragon 400 chipset, 1GB of RAM, same 4-megapixel UltraPixel camera and a 4.3-inch 1280x720 screen.

In any case, it looks like that September might be quite interesting when it comes to smartphones, phablets and even tablets.
