Biwin launches half slim H6201 embedded SSD

In 4 to 128GB capacities

Biwin has introduced a new business-grade SSD aimed to be used in the digital signage market, the half slim H6201. Based on SATA II Half-slim form factor the new H6201 will be available in capacities ranging from 4GB to 128GB.

According to Biwin, the new half slim H6201 SSD has a MTBF of 2,000,000 hours that is more than double comparing to the standard mechanical HDD and is able to handle high IO data throughput such as multiple data streams. The maximum power consumption of the H6201 is set at 0.97W which means that it needs no additional cooling.

The Biwin H6201 uses MLC NAND flash memory and features dynamic bad block management, dynamic and static wear-leveling, and error correction code (ECC). The performance is set at up to 238MB/s of sequential read and up to 85MB/s of sequential write.

Unfortunately, the price or the actual release date have not been announced.
