During its Samsung Premiere 2013 event held in London, Samsung has unveiled quite a few new devices including a 10.1-inch Intel Atom powered Windows 8 tablet, the Ativ Tab 3.
Aiming to be the slimmest, lightest and budget friendly Windows 8 tablet, the new Ativ Tab 3 features a 10.1-inch 1366x768 screen and is powered by Intel's Atom Z2760 dual-core CPU that is a part of the Clover Trail platform. In case you missed it earlier, the Atom Z2760 works at 1.5GHz with 1.8GHz Turbo and features PowerVR SGX545 GPU clocked at 533MHz. The CPU supports 2GB of RAM memory and that is exactly how much Samsung decided to squeeze in the new ATIV Tab 3.
The new ATIV Tab 3 is a mere 8.2mm thin and weighs 550 grams. The rest of the features and specs include 64GB of flash storage expandable by a microSD card slot, Samsung S Pen stylus and a battery that should keep it alive for a rather impressive 8.5 hours.
As noted earlier, the ATIV Tab 3 will run on Windows 8 OS and should be available in retail/e-tail sometimes in August with a US $699 price tag, including keyboard cover.
