Asus has officially launched a new member of its VivoBook Ultrabook lineup, the VivoBook S551 Touch Ultrabook. Featuring Intel's 4th generation Core CPU and Nvidia Geforce GT 740M GPU, the new VivoBook S551 Touch Ultrabook is a mere 22.5mm thin at its thickest point and features a 15.6-inch touchscreen.

Although the official press release did not shed much light regarding the actual specifications, most likely due to a different configurations of the SKUs, it will feature up to 8GB of RAM and various HDD + SSD caching options. According to Asus, the new VivoBook S551 Touch weighs 2.4kg and has enough battery juice to keep it running for up to 6 hours on a single charge.

The case of the VivoBook is made out of hairline-treated aluminum that should give it an elegant look and keep the provide additional protection, weight reduction as well as more efficient heat dissipation.

In any case, the VivoBook S551 looks like a neat Ultrabook and we will surely keep an eye out for it.
