According to Reuters, it appears that Intel has scored quite a significant design win for its Clover Trail+ chip which should appear in at least one version of the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 tablet.
According to a source familiar with the matter, it appears that Samsung finds the Intel's chip to be good enough to be a part of its Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 tablet. Samsung already used Intel chips in its ATIV line of tablets based on Microsoft Windows platform and actually aims to launch some more of those at a June 20th even in London. It is still not clear if the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 with Clover Trail+ will also be a part of that launch.
Since it is a tablet, Samsung will most likely go for the Z2580 top SKU part that works at up to 2.0GHz supports 1920x1200 displays and features SGX 544MP2 533MHz Boost clocked GPU part. Intel Clover Trail+ Atom chips aren't necessary bad and could be quite a competition to ARM-based counterparts.
Of course, we'll wait for Samsung to actually launch it and for us to see some official reviews before we give our final judgment.
