There have been a couple of rumors regarding Microsoft's second-generation Surface RT tablet and according to a new report from Digitimes, these should be announced in June with a price tag of around US $249-299.
According to Digitimes, manufacturing is done by Pegatron Technology and new Surface RT tablets could end up with Nvidia Tegra chipset. If that is indeed a case, the new Surface RT tablets might be the big design win that Nvidia certainly needs as Qualcomm has taken a big chunk leaving Nvidia and most of the competition with slim to none options.
Digitimes also notes that second-generation Surface tablets could hit retail at around US $249 to US $299 which makes more sense than the first-generation that launched at closer to US $500. Microsoft clearly wants its new Windows RT tablets to compete with the likes of Nexus 7 and it will surely face a stiff competition.
