Microsoft Xbox Next to have US $499 price tag

US $299 with US $10 month subscription

According to recent rumors, Microsoft's upcoming next-generation Xbox might be quite an expensive console as it could end up with a US $499 price tag when it appears on retail/e-tail shelves in November.

In addition to the US $499 priced one, Microsoft will apparently offer some deals by selling the console for US $299 with a US $10 monthly subscription to Xbox Live for two years. When added up it actually ends up US $40 more than what you would pay for console but monthly subscriptions are usually easier to swallow.

The report also notes that Sony's upcoming Playstation 4 might not be that much cheaper either and it is pretty much the same deal. On the other hand, the last and 3rd redesign of the Xbox 360 might be real seller as this one is expected to show up during holiday season for just US $99.

As noted earlier, we will surely know more as the Microsoft event kicks off on May 21st.
