Asus Taichi 31 dual-screen hybrid now available

Two 13.3-inch full HD touchscreens

Following the launch of the 11.6-inch dual-screen Taichi 21, Asus has now announced the availability of its new dual-screen notebook hybrid with two 13.3-inch full HD touchscreens, the Taichi 31.
Based on the same concept design as the Taichi 21, the Taichi 31 notebook has two screens placed in its lid which allows it to be used as standard notebook, as a tablet when the lid is closed, or even as a presentation device with an extra screen. The Taichi 31 features two 13.3-inch 1920x1080 resolution IPS touchscreens on both sides of the lid and will be available with either a Core i5 or Core i7 CPU, 4GB of RAM, and an SSD for storage.

The rest of the specs include a rear-facing 5-megapixel camera, 720p front camera, Bang & Olufsen ICEPower sound system, 802.11bgn dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, two USB 3.0 ports and WiDi support for connectivity. According to Asus, the battery should keep it alive for around seven hours and it should hit major retail/e-tails stores in the USA with a US $1500+ price tag.

In Europe, the Taichi 31 is listed and somewhere even available with a lowest price tag set at anywhere between €1399 and €1699 depending on the SKU.
