Silicon Power launches Velox V50 SSD

Unknown controller for up to 530MB/s read performance

Silicon Power has announced a new addition to its Velox series of solid-state driver, the Velox V50. Based on yet to be revealed SATA 6Gbps controller, the new Velox V50 will provide up to 530MB/s read and up to 200MB/s write speeds.
To be available in 32, 64, 128 and 256GB capacities, the new Velox V50, at least according to Silicon Power, features "the latest controller technology" to provide excellent performance and cost effectiveness. Packed in a 7mm thick 2.5-inch case, the Velox V50 line is also suitable for ultrabooks. Unfortunately, Silicon Power did not announce any maximum random 4k performance numbers so we hope that we will see it in some review pretty soon.

It also features standard TRIM, Garbage Collection, ECC and SMART technologies and come with a 3 year warranty. Unfortunately, the price or the availability date have not been announced.
