An interesting photo appeared over at Reddit showing two upcoming Radeon HD 7990 Malta graphics cards running next to each other in CrossfireX mode.
The picture was posted by Repilur user that might have to do something with EA and the upcoming Battlefield 4 game. It appears that the HD 7990 Malta is ready and these two are happily working next to each other for some CrossfireX action with four GPUs. In case you missed it, the reference Radeon HD 7990 Malta was picture back during GDC 2013 last month but unfortunately, AMD did not reveal any details regarding the actual specifications or the launch date.
Judging by the pictures and details revealed earlier, the upcoming HD 7990 Malta is much less power hungry when compared to HD 7990 New Zealand based graphics cards released by TuL/Powercolor or Asus. The new Radeon HD 7990 Malta actually "only" needs two 8-pin PCI-Express power connectors and it is expected to work at around 1GHz for the GPUs. The reference design card features dual-slot triple-fan cooler that is, at least according to Matt Skynner, General Manager of AMD Graphics Business Unit, whisper quiet.
We certainly hope that the new Radeon HD 7990 Malta graphics card will launch pretty soon, but so far there has been no precise information regarding it.
