AM3+ socket with current 8-series chipset

Asus and Gigabyte announced that they will release AM3+ motherboards based on AMDs 8-series chipset.

Following we can show you a list of the upcoming ASUS M5A Series motherboards which will be using Socket AM3+ instead of AM3.

  • M5A78L-M PLUS

Gigabyte's point of view is quite different, they will not release new motherboards, they will just update current motherboards to rev 3.1 wheras this revision will then support socket AM3+.

Currently known motherboards that will feature a rev 3.1:

  • 890FXA-UD5
  • 890GPA-UD3H
  • 880GA-UD3H
  • 870A-USB3
