Intel unveils Xeon E CPUs

Based on Coffee Lake

Intel has released a new series of Coffee Lake CPUs for professionals. With the Xeon E processor family, the company adds ten CPUs with up to six cores and twelve threads and with or without IGP.

The Xeon E family is compatible with Intel C246 chipset, which is a tweaked version of the same silicon that we can find with H370, B360 and H310 consumer chipsets. This chip comes with 24 PCIe 3.0 lanes, up to six USB 3.1 Gen2 ports and 10 USB 3.1 Gen1 connectors. In addition there are up to eight SATA ports. Since this chipset has been designed for professionals, there is Intel vPro support and Intel CNVi Wireless-AC module.

According to Intel, OEM partners like Dell, HP and Levono might adopt the new Xeon E processors rather soon. Below you can find the list of the new CPUs.
