As you might know, Qualcomm is working hard in order to offer a good SoC for upcoming mobile solutions. While the company has already unveiled some SoCs during the last months, now they might be ready with a flagship model.
Almost one year ago, Qualcomm has unveiled the first generation of Snapdragon PCs which has been called also "Cellular PCs" or "always connected PCs". This generation was powered by the 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. A few months later, the company has unveiled the SD845 SoC which was up to 25% faster than the previous generation. This SoC was intended for smartphones and tablets. While the performance was pretty good on Windows 10 OS too, Qualcomm has unveiled another chip which should be comparable to Intel Core series.
According to a report from ArsTechnica and WinFuture, Qualcomm is readying the upcoming Snapdragon 1000 chip which has been built for Windows 10 on ARM. The SD1000 SoC will have a 12W TDP and will compete against Intel's Y-Series (4.5W) and U-Series (15W) processors. The socketed processor is rather large compared to the previous series but still smaller than Intel chips. This SoC should be available during this year and it will be built on TSMC 7nm manufacturing process.
