AMD unveils a new cooler for Threadripper 2

Called Wraith Ripper

Alongside with the announcement of Threadripper 2 processors, AMD has unveiled a capable cooler that can handle the rumored 250W TDP under control. According to AMD; Threadripper 2 will come with the Asetek bracket that provides compatibility with leading AIO watercoolers. Furthermore the company has worked side by side with Cooler Master in order to offer a tower cooler as well.

The Wraith Ripper cooler comes with fully-addressable RGB lighting for the Ryzen Threadripper logo and two LED strips. While the first series of Threadripper CPUs came with two active die and two inactive dummy die, the new series will come with four active die. For this reason we will need more cooling power and a complete coverage of the large TR4 socket.

Cooler Master has placed inside the Wraith Ripper seven copper heat pipes and several aluminum fins. Furthermore the 120mm fan in the center of the cooler provides a good airflow. The cooler looks very solid and huge, as we would expect from a cooler that can dissipate roughly 250W of thermal output. At the moment there isn't any additional information but we might see this product during Q3 2018.
