AMD at Computex 2018 has unveiled the second generation of Threadripper CPU. The new chipzilla will pack as many as 32 core and it will have a TDP as high as 250W. Although a water cooling cooler might be the best choice, be quiet! has immediately unveiled the Dark Rock Pro TR4 which should be able to cool down this big chip. Furthermore the company has added new fans.
With the Dark Rock Pro TR4, be quiet! adds a twin tower cooler with copper base and seven heat pipes. The aluminum fins are covered with ceramic-infused coating and between the two towers there are two Silent Wings PWM fans. Since the mounting system is the same, if you own the Dark Rock Pro 4 you can swap the two coolers without any issue. At the moment there isn't any additional information about this cooler.
The company has unveiled a new series for the Shadow Wings 2 fans. The upcoming lineup will reduce the rotation speed in order to achieve more silent. The company will offer 120mm versions that spin up to 1100 RPM and 140mm models that can hit 900 RPM. Both fans will be available with 3-pin and 4-pin PWM headers.
Last but not least be quiet! is also offering a lineup of 15 different individually-sleeved power cable extensions. According to the company, the extensions are fully compatible with all of its existing modular power supply models.
