A big treasure of information just appeared on Bluechip's (a German PC OEM) website. During a webinar, the German PC OEM has shown several slides about upcoming Intel and AMD chipsets. According to the pictures, AMD should release a Z490 chipset and Intel will add Z390 chipset as well.
Jumping into them, we see that AMD will unveil a new flagship chipset for the AM4 socket called Z490. According to the first image, AMD will release this chipset around June or during upcoming Computex 2018. Furthermore we should see the successor of the current B350 mid-range chipset in July. Last but not least, AMD will add a second generation of Threadripper next August.
On the Intel side, we see that the much discussed Z390 chipset won't be available until Q3 2018. The slide confims that the chipset will support future 10nm Cannon Lake (CNL) and current Coffee Lake (CFL) processors. In addition the slide confirms that Intel will add the first 8-core mainstream processor with Intel Z390.
The biggest reveal is probably AMD's Z490 chipset. Although there isn't any information about this chipset and we don't know what is the difference between Z490 and current X470, we believe that the new chipset will pack more PCIe 3.0 lanes for SSDs or Thunderbolt ports. We will keep an eye on it.
