Ballistix has announced their Tactical Tracer LED memory kit, which has been designed and tested in combination with Intel Coffee Lake and AMD Ryzen processors. Each module comes with eight customizable zones and sixteen RGB LEDs.
Although this might sound a bit surprising, Ballistix has never shown RGB memory kits before. This kit might be the first LED-lit DDR4 product from Crucial/Micron. The kit is almost ready to launch but there isn't any information about the final specifications and the release date. Ballistix has revealed that the Tactical Tracer RGB DDR4 memory are available with DDR4-2666 and DDR4-3000 speeds with 8GB or 16GB capacity.
PC modders can customize their Tactical Tracer RGB DDR4 memory by removing the Ballistix-labelled light bar for more brightness. Furthermore the company offers the design files for your 3D printer if you want change the design of the bar.
The RGB lighting on the memory is controlled through Crucial’s Mod driver software, which isn’t compatible with third-party lighting ecosystems. The software allows for synchronized lighting effects on up to 12 memory DIMMs.
