ASUS updates Zephyrus GX501 gaming notebook

Featuring six-core CPU

It appears that ASUS is upgrading its Zephyrus gaming laptop with a six-core Coffee Lake-H processor. While on the CPU side the company has made a big step forward, regarding the graphics side ASUS is going to maintain the Max-Q version of NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 1080 GPU.

The upcoming Zephyrus GX501 packs a Core i7-8750H processor which is a significant upgrade over the previous Core i5 and Core i7 HQ processors. Although the Core i7-8750H hasn't been released yet, it should sports six-core with HyperThreading and a boost clock around 4GHz. In addition it comes with 9MB of L3 cache and a 45W TDP. The CPU should be paired with 16GB of DDR4-2400 memory.

Like we mentioned above, inside the Zephyrus there is a GeForce GTX 1080 GPU with NVIDIA's Max-Q design. Due to the processor and the graphics card, we believe that the GX501 can be rather quick for gaming purpose. Furthermore it comes with a 15.6-inch FHD display with 144Hz refresh rate and 512GB solid state drive.

According to a leak on a swiss shop, the Zephyrus GX501 should costs around 3000 Euro.
