Silverstone launches heatsink for M.2 SSDs

For 2280 form factor SSDs

If these days you want to buy a fast SSD you're going to choose an M.2 drive. Those drives are not just fast, unfortunately some of them also struggle with overheating issues. Silverstone has come up with a heatsink for M.2 SSD, which goes by the name TP02-M2.

With their TP02-M2, Silverstone has an aluminum heat spreader in its portfolio which is compatible with drives that fit the M.2-2280 slot. On one side the heat spreader features thermal padding, which should help to evenly remove heat from the SSD.

Therefore Silverstone claims that this new heat spreader is capable of keeping the temperatures low and as a result reduce throttling on M.2 PCIe SSDs.

The upcoming TP02-M2 M.2 cooling kit from SilverStone will be available from next week in the EU. That is not a long time to wait and the price is set to €8.90.
