Silverstone introduces Essential Gold series PSUs

80 Plus Gold efficiency rating

Silverstone has introduced its new Essential Gold series of power supply units that will be available with 550W, 650W and 750W of output power. Apart from that, there is a semi-modular cable management. Compared to the Essential Bronze series models, which use 120 mm fans, these ones use larger and quieter 140 mm fans.

The Silverstone Essential Gold series lineup features a multi +12V rail design with DC-to-DC switching, active PFC, all the usual protections as well as an 80 PLUS Gold efficiency rating. The lineup will be cooled by a new 140mm bottom placed fan, which should be pretty silent. As mentioned before, these new PSUs will come with 550W, 650W and 750W of output power. They will be equipped with up to two 6+2-pin PCIe power connectors, four SATA power connectors and the standard 24-pin connector. Furthermore there is one 8-pin EPS power cable.

All units will measure 160mm in length therefore complying with the ATX form factor. Nevertheless these units should be fairly well-prices and apart from that the manufacturer mentioned that the units are soon going to be available and backed by a 3-year warranty plan.
