Intel's Z370 platform is right around the corner and during the upcoming weeks vendors might launch quite a few new products. Thanks to Videocardz, we can already have a look at upcoming Z370XP SLI motherboard. This model should belong to the mid-range series and comes with an attractive price tag.
At the moment there are only a few details known but as it always before launches, we expect the full list of specifications as well as detailed pictures to surface rather sooner than later. So far Gigabyte's Z370 series will include four models: the Z370 Aorus Gaming 7, the Z370 Aorus Gaming 5, the Z370 Aorus Ultra Gaming and the Z370XP SLI. While the first three models belong to the Aorus Gaming series, which are high-end boards, the fourth model is targeting the mid-range market.
Compared to the high-end Z270XP SLI, Gigabyte is changing the color scheme in the case of their Z370 models. Despite the Z370XP SLI belonging to the vendor’s mid-range series, there are a few nice features that can usually be found on higher-end boards. There is for instance an I/O cover as well as a bunch of PCIe 3.0 x16 slots. Storage wise, between each full-sized PCIe slot there is a M.2 slot and the slots can hold a whole variety of M.2 drives and the longest of them can measure 110mm, complying with the 22110 standard.
Apart from that the RGB lighting has been improved and now we find several RGB LEDs all over the motherboard. If you are thinking about buying a new PC, which is based on Intel’s Z-series chipset, we suggest to wait a few weeks since by then Coffee Lake will be out.
