Age of Empires 4 incoming

It’s been a long time

Back in 2005 Microsoft published the last Age of Empires title, which, already back then, was developed by Relic Entertainment. The franchise has always been one of the strategy games out there and it’s great to hear that a proper successor is now under development.

Like when Age of Empires 3 had been announced back in 2005 the upcoming Age of Empires 4 is going to launch as a PC only version. So far no information has been disclosed as to when this title is going to make it to the market, but apparently we’re hoping Relic Entertainment already got some work done on this project, so it doesn’t take too long anymore.

In the meantime we’ll be able to enjoy remastered editions of Age of Empires II and Age of Empires III. Microsoft and Relic are actually not going to call them “remastered” but “Definitive Edition”. These reworked versions of those good old games will come with support for 4K/UHD resolution and apart from that all the audio tracks are currently still receiving polishing.

Age of Empires: Definitive Edition is going to be release for PC only on October 19th. The title will only be available for Windows 10 and therefore it can only be bought and downloaded via the Windows 10 store.
