Enermax introduces Platimax D.F. series PSUs

The smallest is a 1.2kW unit

Although PCs have become more efficient compared to a few years ago, there are still gaming PCs or workstations that require big power supplies. Enermax has introduced its new Platimax D.F. series of power supply units that will be available with 500W, 600W, 750W, 850W, 1'050W and 1'200W of output power, feature modular design as well as a 5-year warranty plan.

The Enermax Platimax D.F. series lineup features fully modular cable management and multi +12V rail design with DC-to-DC switching, active PFC, all the usual protections as well as an 80 PLUS Platinum efficiency rating. The lineup will be cooled by a new 135mm bottom placed fan, which runs passive below certain load levels. As mentioned before, these new PSUs will come with 500W, 600W, 750W, 850W, 1'050W and 1'200W of output power. They will be equipped with up to six 6+2-pin PCIe power connectors, twelve SATA power connectors and the standard 24-pin connector. Furthermore there is one 4-pin CPU connector and one 8-pin EPS power cable.

All units will measure 160mm in length meeting the standard ATX form factor. This is pretty impressive since usually the 1kW units exceed the ATX factor. These units are rather compact since most other power supplies with up to 1'200W measure about 180 millimeters. Unfortunately, Enermax did not reveal any details regarding the price but did note that these should be available soon and backed by a 5-year warranty.
