EagleTree Capital interested in acquiring Corsair

Private equity investor

According to the latest rumors, it appears that Corsair and EagleTree Capital a flirting in regards to a possible buyout. According to a report that’s be published by Reuters, EagleTree Capital seems to be interested in acquiring Corsair for $500 US million. The discussions are said to already be in advanced stages, so a deal might actually be happening.

According to Reuters, it could be a good moment to invest in Corsair. Basically whenever rumors of a possibly buyout spark investing in a company at that point in time is a good idea, since the value of the company only know one direction from there, which is up. One very good example a few years back was Yahoo. When Microsoft showed interest in buying it the stock price of the Yahoo shares went up significantly.

With a private equity firm showing interest in buying a company that’s active in the gaming market shows, that the gaming market in general is being taken more serious. In the US alone customers have spent $30.4 US billion on video games and accessories last year, which proves there is significant money in this market. Apart from that it’s interesting to see that also Razer is planning to move forward. It looks like their path will take them to the US stock markets through an IPO, while the company appears to be valued at $3 US billion currently.

With Corsair possibly being bought out and Razer going for an IOP (initial public offering) is looks like the market for gaming peripherals is maturing and at the same time growing.
