MSI has introduced their new GTX 1080 Ti Armor and Aero graphics cards and both cards come with custom coolers. Furthermore there are stock and overclocked variants in the portfolio. Including these four new graphics cards, MSI has now six different GTX 1080 Ti pixel accelerators in its portfolio.
The GTX 1080 Ti Aero 11G is quite similar to Nvidia's Founders Edition, with both cards being equipped with a blower fan featuring sleek design. Therefore also the retail/etail price should be similar. The MSI GTX 1080 Ti Aero 11G is available with stock clocks and overclocked. While the GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition works at 1480MHz/1582MHz Core/Boost frequencies, the factory-overclocked MSI GTX 1080 Ti Aero 11G OC clocks with 1506MHz/1620MHz Core/Boost.
With the GTX 1080 Ti Armor, MSI offers a custom graphics card, which features a dense aluminum fin-stack. Two MSI Torx fans provide adequate cooling. Apart from that the cooler operates semi-passively, which means that the fans are not spinning when the GPU is idling. The card also appears to be using the same PCB as the GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X. Like the previous model, the Armor will come with either the reference clock speeds or a factory overclock to 1531MHz/1645MHz Core/Boost.
While the GTX 1080 Ti Aero 11G needs only 1x6-pin and 1x8-pin PCIe power connector, the GTX 1080 Ti Armor has been equipped with 2x8-pin. As of today there is no precise date available when these cards will hit the shelves of your local retailer but they should become available in mid-April. So far there is also no information on the pricing.
