NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Review Roundup

The fastest GeForce graphics card around

NVIDIA is going to launch the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card today since yesterday there are already the first reviews out. Several tech sites have tested NVIDIA’s flagship graphics card and it looks like the performance is great. The new GeForce GTX 1080 Ti can be bought for about the same price as the GTX 1080 when it was launched one year. So far it looks like, compared to the GTX 1080, there is a 35 to 40% performance improvement and this card is perfect if you want to play AAA titles at 4K/UHD.

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is not only the fastest single-chip GeForce graphics card, it’s also the fastest graphics card available today. At the moment there isn't any competition from AMD, since the fastest AMD graphics card is R9 Fury X which is basically on par with the GTX 1070. AMD announced Vega during the Capsaicin and Cream event however we still have to wait a few months to see cards based on this piece of silicon. NVIDIA on the other hand has shown two fast pixel accelerators based on their GP102 GPU, the Titan X and now the GTX 1080 Ti.

According to the first reviews, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti delivers truly impressive performance outperforming even the GTX Titan X Pascal. Compared to the GTX 1080, the new flagship model is about 35% faster, which is more than what the difference between the GTX 980 Ti and the GTX 980 was. As if this is not enough, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti even beats the TITAN X Pascal by approximately 5% thanks to higher clock speeds on both the memory and the GPU.

At the moment only the Founders Edition from NVIDIA is available and by the beginning of next week it should be possible to buy those cards. On top of that there are quite a few vendors that have already announced custom graphics cards and those are supposed to be listed during April. That will then mean we’re going to see even faster single GPU cards very soon.
