After the market for desktop PCs overall has seen a decline for years in a row, during the last quarter it’s finally started to stabilize. On top of that PC gaming is growing constantly these days at quite a staggering rate. According to Jon Peddie Research in 2016 the graphics card channel is showing a 21.2% growth compared to 2015 and the demand for workstation graphics cards has gone up by 19.2%. For the fourth quarter 2016 Jon Peddie Research expects the same growth factor yet the final number still have to be revealed. Comparing the total market volume in the case of PC gaming in Q4 2015 and Q3 2016 we see a 5.6% growth overall.

AIBs (Addi-in-Board partners) are basically vendors that buy GPUs directly off NVIDIA or AMD and build the final graphics cards, which are then either used for gaming or workstations for example.

After years of struggle it’s great to see that the PC market is recovering. As the latest reports from Jon Peddie Research show PC gaming is one very important part of this entire development.
