According to a leak from AMD Shangai's official Taobao channel, AMD's upcoming Zen CPU's might be released on February 28th. At the moment there isn't any precise information which model will hit the market at that point in time. The SKU listed on Taobao channel is set to cost ¥1999.00 which is roughly $295 US. Apart from that a clock speed of 4.2 GHz has been mentioned alongside. Looking at the alleged AMD Ryzen CPUs list, there is no model listed that features these clock speeds.
A few days ago, our friends over at Coolaler.com spotted the entire lineup of upcoming Ryzen CPUs featuring model names and specification. AMD's Ryzen CPU lineup includes 5 octa-core CPUs, 4 hexa-core CPUs and 8 quad-core CPUs. The pack is led by the AMD Ryzen R7 1800X, followed by the R7 1800 Pro, the R7 1700X, the R7 1700 Pro and the R7 1700. The base clock frequency ranges from 3.0 GHz to 3.6 GHz. Furthermore there are also 4 six-core CPUs: the Ryzen R5 1600X, the R5 1600 Pro, the R5 1500 and the R5 1500 Pro. Clock speeds of these CPUs range between 3.20 and 3.60 GHz.
Last but not least, AMD Ryzen might also launch 4 quad-core CPUs: the Ryzen R5 1400X, the R5 1400 Pro, the R5 1300, and the R5 1300 Pro, with clock speeds between 3.10 and 3.50 GHz. According to this list there is no model featuring 4.2 GHz core clock.
Maybe AMD is going to release a higher clocked model but still there is no indication as to whether this is an 8-core or a 4-core. If the alleged date is correct, then we’ll have to wait another 20 days to really find out what all the new AMD chips are capable of.
Update: According to the spanish site elchapuzasinformatico.com three octa core Ryzen processors have been listed in a european shop. The pack is led by the AMD Ryzen R7 1800X, followed by the R7 1700X and by the R7 1700. The first and second model are priced at 599,99 Euro and 469,99 Euro, respectively. The third model, the R7 1700 CPU, is listed for 389,95 Euro.
While the Ryzen R7 1800X and the R7 1700X appear to feature a TDP of 95W, the R7 1700 CPU might benefit from a reduced TDP of only 65W, due to lower clock speeds. At the moment there aren't any more details but we’re pretty confident that in the coming days we’ll find out whether those prices are correct or not.
