Colorful shows new Z270 motherboards

Shroud covering the entire flagship model

During an event held in China, Colorful have shown a little preview regarding their upcoming Intel Z270 motherboards. At the moment there is only a little teaser regarding their iGame series. The guys from Mydrivers have taken some pictures from the flagship model called iGame Z270 Gamer Customization.

Having had a look at those images, it looks like this board is based on an ATX form-factor and there are the usual four DIMM slots. Furthermore the image suggests that there is a fully-packed layout with a ton of additional chips. Apart from that we can see three PCIe 3.0 x16 slots, four PCIe x1 slots as well as a M.2 slot. Since the motherboard features a shroud covering the entire board, it's not easy to discover all the details.

Regarding connectivity, we find six SATA and one U.2 port. The heatsink on the PCH is quite small yet not too bad looking. Colorful has also added some buttons and a display debug with three digits. According to Mydrivers there are six USB 3.0, eight USB 2.0, one USB 3.1, HDMI and DisplayPort at the back I/O panel.

The price of this motherboard should be around 1999 Chinese Yuan or $250 US. As we’ve mentioned several times, judging by the number of teasers and leaks it appears that the launch of Kaby Lake and Intel Z270 is just around the corner and we are pretty sure that during the next weeks or even days we will see more teasers.
