Possible AMD Bristol Ridge APU delidded

AM4 but not Zen

We already seen plenty of details regarding AMD's 7th generation Bristol Ridge APUs which use the new AM4 socket but today we stumbled upon one that has been delidded for overclocking purposes.

Done by Nam Dae Won, who is mostly known by his NameGT name in the overclocking community, managed to get his hands on AM4 chip, most likely Bristol Ridge, and delid it.

While we do not have any more details or overclocking results, since Bristol Ridge APUs are currently only available to OEMs. Of course, there are still no AM4 motherboards officially available as these should launch sometime late this year or early next year.

In case you missed it, AMD's 7th generation Bristol Ridge APUs will be using the new AM4 socket but will not be based on AMD's new Zen CPU architecture, but rather AMD Excavator v2 CPU architecture, paired up with Graphics Core Next 1.3 (aka GCN 3.0) architecture, same one behind AMD's R9 Fury GPU lineup, but with slightly less Stream Processors.

Anyway, it is always nice to see a delidded CPU/APU and check out what it actually looks like below the IHS.

Hopefully, we will see some overclocking results soon.
