More details regarding AMD's upcoming Zen-based Summit Ridge CPUs have found their way online, suggesting clocks ranging from 3.2GHz base to 3.5GHz Boost as well as prices ranging from US $150 for the entry-level SR3 to US $500 for the special SR7 high-end part.
Earlier, MAXSUN mainly confirmed the clocks of the upcoming Summit Ridge parts, suggesting that these will be clocked at around 3.15-3.30GHz base clock with maximum Boost/Turbo clock reaching 3.5GHz, which is not so bad. They even posted some screenshots which suggested that the high-end SKU can compete with Intel's Core i7-6850K Broadwell-E CPU.
The latest table and information comes from Reddit, suggest that these will be relatively low priced, something that was rumored earlier. The entry-level SR3 65W TDP part, which is a quad-core part, should be priced at around US $150. The SR5, a six-core 95W TPD part should be priced at US $250.
The high-end offer will have two parts, a standard eight-core SR7 part, which should be priced at US $350 and the special SR7 version, priced at US $500.
There have been a lot of hype around AMD's upcoming Zen-based Summit Ridge desktop CPU lineup so hopefully these parts will live up to it and the pricing will be at least similar to those rumored.
