Although the DirectX 12 support is now available in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, thanks to the recently released patch, it appears that it does not work on Nvidia graphics cards.
Nixxes has released an official PC patch for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided which brought beta DirectX 12 support as well as fixed some earlier issues with the game but apparently, it still does not work that good.
To be precise, the DirectX 12 does not work at all on some Nvidia graphics cards, with GTX 1060 crashing before the game could load,
according to Tweaktown, while the GTX 980 Ti experiences major performance hit, of around 30fps in some cases,
according to DSOGaming.com.
To be honest, the patch release notes
posted by Nixxes over at SteamCommunity.com, did say that the DirectX 12 support is still in the beta phase and might not work on some systems. It also does not support multi-GPU systems.
The performance gains on AMD aren't that great either as while AMD claims significant performance improvements, real-world testing show that you get a slight boost in performance, at least on Radeon RX 480,
tested by Tweaktown.com.
Hopefully, Nixxes will be able to tune the DirectX 12 performance and Nvidia will probably release a hotfix/Game Ready drivers that should fix these issues with DirectX 12 in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided game.
