Toshiba has unveiled its newest SSD at the IFA 2016 show currently held in Berlin, the Toshiba A100.
Based on the standard 2.5-inch form-factor and SATA 6Gbps interface, the new Toshiba A100 uses Toshiba's 15nm TLC NAND as well as an in-house developed TC58NC1010 controller.
This combination is enough for sequential read and write performance of 550 MB/s and 480 MB/s while 4K random performance hits 87,000 IOPS read and 82,000 IOPS for write. In order to deal with TLC NAND drawbacks, the Toshiba A100 uses SLC Write Cache Technology.
To be available in 120GB and 240GB capacities for now, the Toshiba A100 will offer endurance rating of 60TBW and 30TBW, respectively.
Backed by a three-year warranty, the Toshiba A100 should be available in October but the price still remains unknown.
