According to a leaked presentation, it appears that AMD Vega GPU will not be coming this year but rather in the first half of 2017.
AMD's recent Polaris GPU launch allowed the company to regain some market share but only in the mid-range and entry-level market. Despite some success in those markets, Nvidia is still reigning supreme in the high-end market as AMD does not have a proper competition to the GTX 10 series Pascal lineup.
According to a leaked AMD presentation for investors, there won't be any new graphics cards this year while Vega, meant for enthusiast market will be coming in the first half of next year.
While there are no precise specifications, earlier information suggested that AMD's Vega GPU will use the 2nd generation High Bandwidth Memory, so we expect a beast when it comes to memory bandwidth.
By the end of this year, AMD will focus on the Zen CPU architecture, which should launch later this year, with mass availability expected in Q1 2017. After that, we can expect a new and shiny high-end graphics card as well.
