Intel announces new SSD 600P Series M.2 SSDs

Intel has unveiled its newest SSD 600P Series aimed at consumer market and featuring TLC NAND and M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 interface.

Available in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB capacities, the new SSD 600P Series will be based on M.2 form factor and will be using Intel/Micron 3D TLC NAND, allowing Intel to provide great price.

According to Intel, these new SSD 600P Series drives will offer sequential performance of anywhere between 770MB/s and 1800MB/s for read and 450MB/s to 560MB/s for write. Random performance ranges from 35K to 155K IOPS for read and 91K to 128K IOPS for write.

Due to the use of the new 3D TLC NAND, Intel managed to offer these drives at rather decent price, with MSRP for 128GB set at US $69, 256GB set at US $104, 512GB set at US $189 and 1TB set at US $359.

According to Intel, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB SSD 600P Series models should be available as of next week while the 1TB model will arrive in the Q4 2016.
