M-series Pascal GPUs to launch at Gamescom?

1000-series notebook parts are incoming

So far it looks like NVIDIA is not going to show the Pascal based Titan cards during this years Gamescom. Instead the upcoming M-series graphics parts might be shows. At least if we're to believe a report that originated on DigiTimes.

Gamescom 2016 is going to open it's doors to the public on 17th of August and at latest by then we might get a look at the 1000-series mobile GPUs from NVIDIA. At this point it's expected that partners like ASUS, Gigabyte and MSI will show new notebooks, which make use of these chips in the graphic department.

In their report DigiTimes are mentioning that NVIDIA is about to launch the entire line-up. In this case we can expect to see the GTX 1080m, GTX 1070m as well as the GTX 1060m. In the case of the 1000-series mobile GPUs it's rumored that NVIDIA could be changing the naming scheme, by not including the m-suffix anymore.

Especially for the mobile segment Pascal could be a rather interesting part. Although the Maxwell GPUs were already very engergy efficient, NVIDIA was able to step up the game and increase efficiency even furhter. Thanks to the new 16nm process technology from TSMC NVIDIA could now come up with a mobile GPU that's as powerful as a fully grown GTX 980 desktop graphics card.
