Nvidia GTX 1070 mobile to pack 2048 CUDA cores

More specification show up

According to the latest leak, the upcoming mobile Geforce GTX 1070M could actually pack more CUDA cores than the desktop Geforce GTX 1070 graphics card, but also offers similar performance.

Based on yet to be detailed GPU, the mobile version of the Geforce GTX 1070 is rumored to pack 2048 CUDA cores, which is actually more CUDA cores than the desktop GTX 1070 counterpart (1920 CUDA cores) but at slightly lower GPU clocks. It will also pack 8GB of GDDR5 memory with a 256-bit memory interface, just as the desktop version.

According to these specifications, which were revealed by a GPU-Z screenshot, coming from Benchlife.info, the mobile-version of the GTX 1070 could actually offer similar performance to the desktop GTX 1070, due to a higher CUDA core count and lower clocks.

A different source, spotted by Videocardz.com, also revealed some specifications of the mobile GTX 1060, which should be the same as the desktop GTX 1060, packing 1280 CUDA cores slightly lower clocks and 6GB of GDDR5 memory on a 192-bit memory interface.

Nvidia is leveling up the performance of its mobile and desktop parts, which was usually not the case, suggesting that notebook gaming is becoming heavily popular.
