Intel Coffee Lake CPUs coming in 2018

Up to 6-cores and based on 14nm manufacturing process

According to the latest report, Intel might be releasing yet another update to its mainstream desktop range in the form of Coffee Lake CPU, which will be available with up to 6-cores and using Intel's existing 14nm manufacturing process.

The Coffee Lake CPUs will also bring more cores to the mainstream lineup, be available in Intel's H-series and U-series CPU lineups and should replace quad-core Kaby Lake parts.

According to a roadmap slide leaked by PC Watch, the new Coffee Lake CPUs will be available in 2-, 4- and 6-core versions and come with GT3e integrated graphics, same as Kaby Lake parts.

The H-series should include couple of SKUs with TDP ranging from 35W to 45W while the U-series, with TDP ranging from 15W to 28W, will only have dual-core SKUs but come with the same GT3e integrated graphics.

The Coffee Lake will co-exist with Intel's upcoming 10nm Cannon Lake CPUs, which are first expected to launch in early 2018 with U-series (15W TDP) and Y-series (4.5W TDP) parts.

We will probably hear more details about it sometime next year, most likely around CES 2017 in January, and hopefully this does not mean that Intel has hit another bump in its 10nm manufacturing process.
